I am going to say this right now.

DxOC is STUPID.

I'm okay with drawing yourself with Danny for comfort or something. I'm okay with having your OC date Danny for a little while and then have them break up.

What bugs me is when people argue about Canon DxS not working out, so then they try to say that their OC works better in the canon world. There are no ifs or buts - a canon couple works the best. You can't compare a canon couple to a couple that a fan thought up half of.

I hate it when someone creates a DP OC and make her fucking perfect. She's in love with Danny FOREVER and Danny loves her back FOREVER. She's really beautiful. She's a halfa. Their relationship is perfect and they never fight. They battle ghosts together.

OH, COME ON.

Tell me; where did your OC find a damaged portal (or have an accident like in Vlad's case) so she could turn into a half ghost? How did this happen? IT FUCKING DIDN'T BECAUSE THESE THINGS DON'T HAPPEN OFTEN.

There are two halfas we know of, Vlad Masters and Danny. Danielle was not a true halfa because she was a clone. There is a difference. A clone isn't a true human.

Both of the incidents were caused because both Danny and Vlad spent a lot of their time around ghost-related equipment and activities. Unless your OC is a total freakin' Mary-Sue, she does not have a family or attend a college at which ghost activity and research is a daily thing. Therefore it's nearly impossible for her to be a halfa.

And if it did happen, what are the chances of your OC knowing Danny AND having an accident similar to his? Very, very small.

And the chance of Danny being in love with her are even smaller.

I like other pairings besides DxS. I am a DxS shipper, but I can appreciate other pairings. What I can't appreciate is this stupid DxOC bullshit.

Seriously. It's a show. We love it, but it's been dead for years. So WHY are you still doing this? What is the point of making Danny love someone else? Exactly. By that point you could create a whole series about that character and leave it totally unrelated to DP, but instead you waste their creativity on a fan character.

Danny loves Sam.

Sam loves Danny.

They have a rocky relationship. They fight. They butt heads. Their personalities clash.

But (OMGTHISISSOSHOCKING) There are real life couples like that who make it.

Do you want to know why? Love conquers all. I know it from personal experience. When you love someone, no matter how many times you fight and bicker and bitch and moan and complain, you still love each other, and you come back to that love. You always do. That's what true love is.

That is what Sam and Danny have.

True love is something that spawns from knowing each other on a very deep and personal level. According to the show, Danny and Sam and Tucker have been friends for years, so that means they all know each other way more than skin deep.

I feel like so many holes in the plots and relationships were left. I think if the show hadn't been cancelled and they didn't have to shove in all the romance and changing relationships so quickly, it would have been a lot better of a third season and the relationships would be much more well thought out.

People argue that sometimes Sam and Tucker only act as friends because of Danny. That's wrong. I've seen tons of moments in the show where Sam was in danger and Tucker was worried for her and the other way around. They're concerned about each other, and they have hung out without Danny before.

I would also like to add that Sam gets a lot of hate, and she is definitely not the only character with attitude problems and issues with contradicting themselves.

Danny, Tucker, Valerie, Maddie, Jack, Vlad, and all the other characters, even Lancer - all of them have their moments, and especially Danny. I don't see why people can say Danny is absolutely perfect in every way, because he isn't. He has lots and lots of flaws and often refuses to admit them until he learns some long profound lesson.

If you don't like my opinion, fire away. I'd love something to laugh at.
This was also a journal, but I want to submit this to the anti DPxOC Club so I'm making it a deviation.

Danny doesn't love your OC. Sorry to break it to you. Make a male OC and match him up with your halfa girl.

-eyeroll-

the rant is mine, danny phantom is butch hartman's

EDIT:

To be honest, I wrote this so long ago and I really don't care anymore about fanwars. I'm not involved enough in the fandom to care these days.

Here's something I recently replied with to someone who commented on this. I think it expresses my current thoughts and opinions on the topic better.

But yes, I think Sam is a great character. Everyone at that age contradicts themselves and tries to be influential and different with everything they say and do but they usually end up being just like everyone else and making a fool of themselves.
If they have a problem with her because she's a goth then that's just dumb because everyone is entitled to their own lifestyle.
If they're obsessed with Danny they need to get over it. He's a cartoon. A cancelled, long dead cartoon. Face reality, he's never gonna love you. It was okay when we were 13 and 14, the trio's age, but grow up.
I support a lot of shippings. My main argument these days against DxOC is that some OCs that are actually really great are being shoved into a fandom when they could be the center of a well-thought-out original story.
Everyone has their flaws, and I think the writers of the show (back when they cared about it in the first two seasons) really tried to show that.

I used to be a fan of Danny and Sam, But rewatching the show and looking at Reddit about bad relationships soured me. The show just had her being the best thing since sliced bread and anyone who disagrees is in league with Satan. I think that Danny and Ember would work.
